How to play imperial as Vikings

How to play imperial as Vikings was created by Scrum
There have been a few games lately where I have gotten to Imperial age with an advantage in villager numbers and end up losing as Vikings.
This has happened notably vs Mongols. The last time it happened was against Berbers.
I get to imperial with a good amount of crossbows and then start adding barracks to add pikemen to my composition, or stables for light cav. Other times I add siege workshops and go for rams.
Often, the opponent goes heavy on siege and I am unable to stop it. I try to transition to Berserkers and Siege Rams but rarely have enough resources to do this effectively.
How should I approach imperial age as Vikings?
How many vils on what resources are needed to switch to Berserker and Siege Ram composition?

Hey Scrum!
Vikings are very strong feudal to early imperial civilization. However after early imp they fall of drastically in power. Especially if you are playing against a civ like mongols and you give them time in imperial.
Quite often however the very early imperial age might even be the strongest point for the vikings if you have leftover crossbowman that you upgrade to arbalest, and then have prepared siege (siege rams or have maybe a forward castle already that you can use for trebs)
I wouldn't advise most of the time to try and switch into berserkers, atleast immediately. The amount of economy, and castles you need will take a long time compared to just doing ''3tc arbalest'' into rams/trebs.
Try to focus on having rams prepared when you reach imperial or offensive castle, then making trebs; can be better option vs mongols for example when they already have a mass of mangudai. Make sure you also have as much archery range production for you arbalest and to keep your existing xbows alive after you have clicked to imperial.
Let me know if you have any other questions,
