Searching for the wisdom of Jupe

I am still terrible in late game. 11 . It's my curse. I Hoang rushed too much and now I have been having difficulty. I think I have learned recently however the importance of patience and I was curious as to your thoughts. It seems too often that I get too excited late game, and waste army that ends up costing me the match. I feel like I've gotten much better at booming, this was before of great difficulty to me. Many of the matches that I lose more recently end when my opponent goes Imp before I do. So my first question I suppose is #1 When should I go Imperial age..ish ? I know it depends... 11. #2 If I am going up later to Imperial age do you have any tips on how to stall your opponent as you attempt to go up in age while upgrading your units?

TLDR ; Too often I force a battle to early before I am able to get up to IMP and and I ruin my gigantic eco lead.
