Countering Franks With Archer Civ

Countering Franks With Archer Civ was created by daveJL
Just started playing AOE:DE after years out of the game. Been practicing archer rush with Chinese and eventually going into unique unit but coming up against franks A LOT and wondering what the best combo to counter is?

Hey Dave.
If you can get early attack with let's say 2 spearman and 6-8 archers that should be atleast troublesome for franks, and forcing them to usually make skirmishers earlier than they would want to. However then your problem will be their counter attack with scouts and skirmishers, so you'd like to wall before that happens. If the scout player isn't making skirmishers at all you have much stronger army mid to late feudal age this is when you need to do damage if that is the case (no skirmishers, or very few without upgrades).
If scout player is doing scout+skirmisher and you are fine your uptimes should be similar, but you should have the edge early castle age, try to lower the skirm numbers so possible elite skirm will be less harmfull while pushing towards him.
Those were just couple examples, let me know what kind of situations you usually face that.
